On April 27, 2014, at 3:13 a.m., the Guelph Police located a male in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle on Cork Street East. The male was found to be intoxicated and attempting to illegally drive home patrons from the downtown bar district for compensation. Police arrested the male who became combative with police during the arrest.
Justin KENT, 24 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired care and control, over 80 mg care and control, three counts of assault police and utter threats to cause death under the Criminal Code. He was also charged with pick up passenger for compensation without authority and fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act, and owner operate motor vehicle – no insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He will appear in court on May 13, 2014.
