(CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On December 1, 2012 at approximately 2:00am, the County of Wellington Festive RIDE Team was conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on Highway 6 south and College Ave west, just outside of Guelph. At this time and location, officers investigated the driver of a 1993 Toyota that entered the spot check. The driver showed signs of alcohol consumption, and was administered a Roadside Screening Device test. Several attempts were made by the driver to provide a suitable breath sample without success.
Judgra Garcha, age 36 of Guelph has been charged with Fail to Provide Breath Sample, contrary to the Criminal Code. His driver’s licence was suspended and vehicle impounded for seven days, as per statute. He was also charged with Fail to Produce Insurance Card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on January 15 2013 to answer to the charges.
