(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 29 year old from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is facing charges of Drive Under Suspension and Possession of a Controlled Substance following a traffic stop on June 25, 2014. Shortly before 10:00 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police officer stopped a Ford F-150 that was travelling eastbound on Huron Road near Holmesville.
Upon stopping the male driver he was unable to produce a driver’s licence. A subsequent check on the status of his licence revealed he was currently suspended from driving. He was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest revealed the driver to be in possession of marihuana.
As a result, 29 year old Joshua O’BRIEN, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Driving While Under Suspension and Possession of a Schedule II Substance – (Cannabis Marihuana). His motor vehicle was towed from the scene and he was provided with an appearance notice to attend the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 21, 2014.
