(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On March 31, 2015, just before 6:30 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrols on Highway 40 near Robin Line.
The officer’s attention was drawn to a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling southbound, with a load in the box of the pickup which appeared to be insecure.
The officer stopped the vehicle and had discussion with the male driver and female passenger. Subsequent OPP investigation revealed that the driver had six licence suspensions. The driver was also contravening conditions not to drive a motor vehicle, and not to communicate with the female passenger.
As a result, the driver, 38 year old Jose CABRAL, from Romney, Chatham-Kent, has been charged with the following:
· Fail To Comply With Recognizance, under the Criminal Code of Canada
· Fail To Comply With Conditions Of Undertaking, under the Criminal Code of Canada
· Driving While Under Suspension x6, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
· Insecure Load, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
He is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on April 2, 2015, to answer to the charges.
