(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 8, 2016, just after 9:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a driving complaint of a GMC pickup driving erratically on Highway 401 westbound near Charing Cross Road.
Officers located the vehicle and stopped it. While the officers were speaking with the driver, 47-year-old John RIES, from Amherstburg, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.
Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and he will appear in a Chatham court on January 27, 2016, to answer to the following charges:
Driving With More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol In Blood
Driving While Ability Impaired
Driving Motor Vehicle With Liquor Readily Available
