(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 25, 2014 at approximately 12:57 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting radar and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near County Road 7 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
At this time and location officers observed a southbound 1993 Chevrolet pick-up truck that appeared to be travelling well above the posted speed limit. Officers further observed that the truck was hauling a homemade trailer that was swaying back and forth. The motor vehicle entered radar and locked at 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
John POTTIE aged 44 has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, Insecure Load and Draw Trailer – No Plate contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial court on April 16, 2014 to answer to the charges.
