(Ottawa, ON) – On March 12, 2015, at 9:49 pm, an officer from the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling highway 417 eastbound near the Parkdale off-ramp in an unmarked police vehicle. The officer observed a vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed and the driver overtook the police vehicle. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop and eventually the vehicle came to a stop on the St. Laurent Boulevard off-ramp.
The female driver, 51 year old Jillian MANSFIELD of Ottawa, is charged with:
Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal code of Canada;
Race a Motor Vehicle – the Highway Traffic Act; and
Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Ottawa on April 15, 2015.
