(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On September 2, 2017 at approximately 11:31 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report from a concerned motorist of a possible impaired driver travelling westbound on Hwy. 26. Reports were that the suspect vehicle had been weaving over the roadway and into oncoming traffic as it approached the town of Meaford.
A few minutes later, police located the suspect vehicle parked in a driveway in Meaford with the lone driver passed out in the driver’s seat. The driver was awakened and police determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol. She was arrested for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and transported to the Chatsworth OPP detachment for breath tests, which she failed.
58-year old Jean LEWIS-KNIGHT was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in her system.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on September 21, 2017.
