(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On December 7, 2012 at 1:50 p.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a Chevrolet passenger van travelling westbound at a high rate of speed on Huron Road near Benmiller Line. The officer activated the RADAR and confirmed the speed of the vehicle at 114km/h, 34 km/h above the posted speed limit. Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol.
Jaswant BRAR, 43, from Mississauga, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Speeding. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 28, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
