(ORILLIA, ON.) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in conjunction with the Orillia Street Crime Unit (SCU), Tactical Response Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit executed a warrant in the City of Orillia.
On March 27, 2015 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a warrant was executed at a Colborne Street address and police seized a loaded handgun.
Jason MACDONALD, 34 years old of Orillia, has been charged with the following offences.
Careless storage of a firearm
Contravention of storage regulations
Possession of a Firearm for a Dangerous Purpose
Possession of Ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose
Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition
Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
Possession of Ammunition knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
Possession of a Firearm other than a place it may be possessed
Possession of a loaded Restricted Firearm
Breach of Probation
Breach of Weapons Prohibition order
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
