(HAMILTON TWP, ON) –On September 12, 2016 the Street Response Team (SRT) of the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged the following individual related to the noted break-in:

Sept 10:
– An auto service shop on County Rd 2 west of Cobourg in Hamilton Twp reported a break-in sometime overnight. The culprit(s) squeezed through a small pipe in a wall to gain entry and stole car batteries, brake lines, cash and one case of NAPA motor oil. Investigation ongoing.
Jason Aaron SMITH age 39 of Port Hope, On is charged with
Break and Enter a place – commit an indictable offence
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Trafficking in Stolen Goods under $5,000
He was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled September 13, 2016 in another jurisdiction for unrelated matters.
