Jamie Lee GAGNON – Drunk Driving, Flight From Police, Breach

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Thursday March 27, 2014, around 8 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol along Hwy 23 west of Palmerston. An oncoming pickup truck was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The truck’s speed was locked in on the police radar and the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle by activating all the emergency lighting on the cruiser.

The pickup truck accelerated and proceeded towards the town of Palmerston. The pickup truck driver attempted to evade police before pulling into a residential driveway. The male driver entered the residence, ran out the back door into the backyard. Officers followed the male’s tracks in the snow and located him at a Prospect Street residence. The male displayed signs of impairment and was transported to the Teviotdale OPP Detachment where he failed two breath tests.

Jamie Lee GAGNON (35) from Drummond-North Elmsley Twp., New Brunswick has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

– Flight from peace officer.

– Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle.

– Operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired.

– Operate a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol.

– Fail to comply with recognizance of bail – 2 counts

He is remanded in custody until Friday April 04, 2014, when he is to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford.
