James Ringler – Drunk Driving – Take Vehicle Without Consent

(Central Huron, ON) On March 27, 2010 at approximately 6:30 pm a Huron OPP officer initiated a traffic stop on Bayfield Road after a vehicle was seen speeding. While dealing with the driver of the speeding vehicle, the officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath. The officer then read a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The driver complied and failed his test. He was then arrested for Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and was taken to the Sebringville OPP Detachment in Perth County to meet with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and provide two more samples of his breath. The results confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit at the time of driving. Further investigation also revealed that the driver was not supposed to have the vehicle he was found driving at the time of the initial offence.

As a result of the investigation, James RINGLER (30) of Central Huron has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and one count of Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on May 10, 2010. The driver is also facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act. LP10076370
