James FIZELL Drive While Disqualified

(HOWICK, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers arrested a disqualified driver from Hanover this past week after he was stopped driving at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) program. Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on December 4, 2014 a Chevrolet Malibu entered the R.I.D.E checkpoint set up at the intersection of Gorrie Line and Perth Road 178.

Officers spoke with the driver and requested to see his driver’s licence. The driver was unable to provide his licence due to the fact it had been suspended from a recent driving conviction. Officers completed a driver’s licence check and verified the driver was prohibited from driving.

As a result, James FIZELL, 59 years of age from Hanover has been charged with Driving While Disqualified. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham on February 20, 2015. His motor vehicle has been impounded for a mandatory 45 days.
