Jacob David RUNNALLS – Drunk Driving

(ALNWICK HALDIMAND, ON) – On Saturday April 26, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a vehicle that had an impaired driver as a result of a complaint received from an off duty OPP officer in Alnwick-Haldimand Township.

At approximately 5:30 pm on Saturday, Northumberland OPP received information regarding a vehicle that came to the attention of an off-duty OPP officer while he was travelling on County Road 2 near McEwen Road. The white 2002 Honda Accord was driving at a high rate of speed in an attempt to lose the officer. Uniformed OPP officers located the driver and vehicle at a residence on Lakeshore Road.

Officers conducted an investigation into the off duty officer’s report and arrested the male driver.

Jacob David RUNNALLS, age 22 from Cobourg, Ontario has been charged with impaired – care and control of a motor vehicle, over 80 milligrams – care and control of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code. He was also charged with drive motor vehicle – no licence and novice driver – B.A.C. above zero (BAC= blood alcohol content) under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg, Ontario on Wednesday May 21, 2014 at 9:30 am.
