(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Saturday, July 12, 2014 at approximately 11:25 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a male standing on the travelled portion of Grey Rd. 18 near Grey Rd. 11 in the Municipality of Meaford. The male exhibited signs of extreme intoxication.
For his safety, he was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and taken to the Markdale Detachment where he was kept until sober. During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of marihuana.
James Douglas THOMPSON, 20, of Georgian Bluffs, was charged with possession of marihuana – over 30 grams, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He is scheduled to appear in Court in Owen Sound on Thursday, August 21, 2014.
