Barrie Police working in the downtown observed a woman staggering along, falling off the sidewalk on Dunlop Street near Mulcaster Street. She was spoken to by police and the investigating officer immediately determined that she was intoxicated. The 30 year old local woman was very drunk and needed assistance walking. There was no one with her and she was not able to take care of herself. She was arrested for her own safety and taken into custody until she is in a sober condition. She will be released with a Provincial offences fine to pay.
