(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – A 16 year old male youth who was on probation and ordered to be of good behaviour was arrested yesterday, April 1st, after he was found to have been drinking alcohol.
On Tuesday, April 1, 2015 at approximately 11:28 a.m., a Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped to talk to the youth who was observed walking southbound on Toronto St, Flesherton, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The youth was found to be intoxicated. An open bottle of beer was located on his person. He was arrested for public intoxication and taken to hospital as a precaution after becoming ill as a result of the alcohol consumption.
The accused, who resides in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was charged with three counts of Breach of Probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and one count of Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code.
A bail hearing was scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2015. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2015, in Owen Sound.
