Impaired

Around 8:00 pm last evening Barrie Police received multiple calls regarding a vehicle that was seen swerving all over the road near Fairview Drive. The vehicle was eventually located parked in a business parking lot with the driver sleeping inside and the engine still running. When officers approached, the male made attempts to throw away the keys and refused to provide his name. He was taken to the Barrie Police Service custody facility where he blew three times the legal limit. When the male finally revealed his identity, police learned he was under a lifetime driving prohibition for previous Impaired Operation related offences including Impaired and Over 80. The 52 year old man from Hawkestone was held in custody.
