Impaired Driving – Expect No Discretion by the OPP

(Dawn- Euphemia Township, ON) – On June 21, 2015 members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a Conservation area on Bentpath Line, Dawn- Euphemia Township, Ontario to investigate a male party who had been causing a disturbance with area campers.

Upon police arrival, the OPP observed the male in question to be located within a motor vehicle. As a result of an extensive investigation, Mark KUCHTA, 47 years of age of Sarnia, Ontario was arrested and charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Alcohol and Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while having over 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100 mls of Blood.

He provided breath samples in excess of 3 times the legal limit! He is to appear at the Sarnia Court House on the 13 July 2015 in order to answer to the allegations.

Again, the OPP will not tolerate Impaired Driving by the consumption of alcohol or drug to occur within the communities in which they police. The OPP believe strongly in community safety and professional accountability. If you are operating any type of motor vehicle be it on public or private property, you will be arrested, charged and prosecuted.

The OPP rely on the public to report crime. Impaired driving is a crime that should be treated as such. If you suspect that someone is driving or about to drive impaired, call 9-1-1 and report it. If you see that someone is impaired by alcohol or drugs and intends on driving, strongly discourage them from driving and call 9-1-1 if they insist.
