(COLLINGWOOD AND THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two motorists in relation to drinking and driving offences over the weekend.
The first incident took place on the 3rd of August 2014 shortly after 4:20am where an officer on patrols conducted a vehicle stop on Mountain Road near Kells Crescent in Collingwood. Upon speaking to the driver, it became apparent that he was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 23 year-old Jory JAMES of Etobicoke, he is facing charges of driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 19th of August 2014.
The second incident took place on the 3rd of August 2014 at approximately 12:50pm when police received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver. Police located the car and conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 26 near Grey Road 40 where interactions with the driver found that she was under the influence of alcohol. She was subjected to a roadside breath test which resulted in a ‘fail’ reading which then led to her arrest and transport to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 68 year-old Denyse COTE-HAYWARD of The Blue Mountains. She is charged with driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol and care or control over 80 milligrams and is to appear in Owen Sound court on the 21st of August 2014.
