(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON.) – Two separate vehicle stops conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the drivers being charged with alcohol related offences.
On March 8, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Water Street near Marina Boulevard and subsequently stopped the vehicle. The officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and administered a road side test.
As a result of the investigation Brandon BENNETT, 22 years of age, of Hastings, was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code. Mr. BENNETT’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused will appear in court, in Peterborough on April 17, 2014.

As a result of the investigation Richard PEARSON, 31 years of age, of Douro-Dummer Township, was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code. Mr. PEARSON’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused will appear in court, in Peterborough on April 14, 2014.
