Impaired Driver Refused Service At Beer Store In Mount Forest

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On Monday October 15, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver that was refused service at the beer store located on the Main Street in Mount Forest. The male was operating a grey 4-door sedan and was last travelling northbound in town.

Police patrolled the area and located the man when he returned home a short time later. While speaking with the male, officers observed obvious signs of impairment and placed him under arrest. He was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

59-year-old John DIPPEL of Wellington North Township has been charged with Driving while Impaired and Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 13, 2018 to answer to the charges.
