(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES)- On Sunday September 22, 2013 at 00:17 a.m. members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police Service along with the assistance of the Middlesex OPP, located a single vehicle, stuck in the ditch on Chippewa Road. Police learned that the driver had been drinking. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene for Care and Control. The accused was confrontational with officers and refused to provide a breath sample upon demand.
As a result police have charged Kelsey PRICE, age 19 of London, ON:
Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle as per Section 253 (1)(a) CC
Assault a Peace Officer- 270(1)(a) CC
Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer- 129(a) CC
Fail to accompany a Peace Officer for Breath Sample- 254(5)
The driver has been released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on November 14, 2013 to speak to the charges.
