On Sunday, September 14, 2014 at approximately 12:25 am, an officer from the Upsala Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Highway 11 when the officer conducted a traffic stop.
While speaking with the driver, the officer detected an odour of alcohol emitting from the drivers breath. Subsequently, the driver was found to be over the legal limit.
Laura BALCOM, 47 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code.
She is to appear in Provincial Court on November 4 2014 to answer to the charges.
