(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On the evening of May 15, 2015, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Gideon Drive.
At approximately 9:56 p.m., officers located the suspect vehicle in the 2000 block of Gideon Drive.
The vehicle, a silver Dodge van, was stopped. The 62 year old male driver was placed under arrest, and physically resisted the officer.
The female passenger, a 43 year old female, attempted to assist the male under arrest, and was also arrested.
Each suspect was subdued by police. The male was transported to local police detachment for breath testing. The female was transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment.
As a result of the investigation, Barry TETREAU, from London, Ontario, has been charged with assault with intent to resist arrest, and driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Patsy YOUNG, from London, Ontario, has been charged with resist peace officer, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Both of the accused persons were released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and are scheduled to appear in the London courts to answer to their respective charges on June 26, 2015.
