Barrie Police were called to an east end plaza for a report of an impaired driver who was seen exiting a beer store and getting into the driver’s seat of a car.
Several residents called Police and gave a description of the suspect and his vehicle.
Police stopped the suspect on Blake St and found the driver in an impaired condition.
He was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Barrie Police Service for a breath test.
The 54 year old male refused to cooperate with Police and was subsequently charged with failing to provide breath samples.
He was held till sober and faces a February Court date.
