A 32 year old Barrie male is in police custody this morning charged with impaired care and control and drive over 80mgs. On Friday evening at approximately 9pm, police were called to the Essa Rd area due a motorist driving recklessly. The accused was located in the Mapleton Avenue and Marscellus Drive area. At that time he was stopped by the officers without incident. A short investigation revealed that the accused was drunk, he was arrested and taken to the station for a breath test. The accused provided two samples in excess of 340mgs, (that’s not a typo) more than four times the legal limit. The accused will be released by way of a Promise to Appear.
