Barrie Police were called to Fairview Dr for a vehicle that drove off a sharp curve on the roadway into a telephone pole.
Barrie Police located the driver who sustained a minor shoulder injury.
EMS was called for medical attention and eventually transported the male to Royal Victoria Hospital.
Police had detected the odour of alcohol on the accused breath and arrested the 31 year old male for impaired driving.
At the hospital the male provided samples of his breath that were over twice the legal limit of 80mgs/100ml.
The male was released to a October court date.
