Hwy 4 Collision Involving School Bus – One Airlifted To Hospital

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a head-on crash that has occurred on London Road (Highway 4) north of Exeter.

Just after 3:30 p.m. Huron OPP, Huron County Paramedic Service & South Huron Fire Department – Exeter responded to the crash scene involving a four-door sedan and a school bus.

The driver of the car was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated from the vehicle by the responding fire crew. Upon extrication from his vehicle he was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in London. His injuries are considered to be life-threatening.

The 12 students and the school bus driver that were on the bus at the time of the crash all escaped injuries.

Members from the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) Team will be attending the scene to assist with the collision investigation.

London Road (Highway 4) is expected to be closed between Hurondale Road and MacDonald Road for the next several hours while the collision is investigated. Please take an alternate route to avoid delays.
