(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Friday February 7th 2014 just before 4:00am Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police was requested to attend a house fire located at Muskoka Rd #3 North in Huntsville. The firefighters had located something that they felt that the OPP would be interested in within the basement of the residence.
Once the house was safe to enter, the members of the Huntsville OPP detachment went into the basement portion of the house and located marihuana plants growing in plants. The officers also located other items that led them to believe that a small growing operation was taking place in this apartment.
Officers spoke to the person who resided, identified as Kirk MCMAHON (60-years-old) in the basement of the house. He was arrested and charged with Producing a Schedule II substance (marihuana) and Possession of a Schedule II for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drug Substances Act and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Huntsville on March 5, 2014 to answer to these charges.
