HOMEOWNER CONTACTS POLICE AFTER BREAK AND ENTER

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at a Water Street, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, October 4, 2013 at approximately 2:48 p.m., unknowns attended the property and gained entry into a portable shelter located in the driveway. The homeowner located the two males who were attempting to remove property. The males subsequently fled into a nearby wooded area.

Officers from Norfolk County OPP along with K9 Services arrived on scene and began to search the area for the males. The males were not located and police are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

The first suspect can be described as a white male, 5’5, heavy set, wearing black clothing and grey gloves with yellow stripes.

The second suspect is being described as a black male, tall with a thin build, black hoodie with a white logo, grey gloves and black shoes with orange soles.

The OPP recognize that break and enters continue to remain an all-too common occurrence in Canada, with more than 200,000 reported to police annually of which 6 in 10 are residential. Another 30% are businesses and 10% are other locations such as sheds and detached garages.
