(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – On Friday December 5, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information regarding a day-time break and enter to a residence on Rice Lake Drive South in Hamilton Township.
Unknown persons forced entry into the residence sometime between 12:00 – 12:30 pm on Friday and ransacked the three bedrooms and left behind a quantity of electronics that were located in the residence. The home owner was notified by an observant neighbor of activity near the property but did notify police at the time about a suspicious vehicle. Officers determined the vehicle seen in the area belonged to a lost traveler and are satisfied with their version of events once they were located. OPP are still investigating this incident.
On Saturday December 6, 2014 sometime overnight, unknown person(s) gained access to a business in Grafton and a quantity of cash was stolen from the register. A second register was opened but found empty. After investigation, it was determined that $662.99 in Canadian currency was stolen. OPP are continuing to investigate this incident.
