(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating an incident after police were called to a Main Street South, Waterford, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Friday, March 21, 2014 at approximately 9:15 a.m., police received a call from a concerned resident after an email was received indicating that the sender was a hit man.
The email goes into detail that a close family member or friend hired them and that their job is to assassinate you. Further details also indicate that the receiver of the email is being watched and not to contact the police under any circumstances.
A large quantity of funds is then requested in order to cancel the assassination. The sender of the email then indicates that the funds are to be sent through the use of a money transfer service and at no time should anything be said to anyone.
These scam emails are generally sent to a large number of people in the hope that one or more will respond and be drawn further into the scam. If you receive one of these messages
