Hit And Run – Vehicle Collides With House

On April 2, 2015 at approximately 10:10 pm, a red GMC pickup truck was travelling on Laurel Street in the City of Cambridge. The driver was unable to negotiate the bend in the road and collided with the front porch of a nearby house. The male driver exited the vehicle and left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services. The collision severed a residential gas line, and as a result two houses were evacuated as a precaution. No one in the residence was harmed and damage to the house was limited to the front porch and steps. On April 3, 2015, the driver turned himself into police. A 50 year old Cambridge man was charged with Fail to Remain at the scene of an accident and Careless driving.
