On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, between 6:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle at the corner of Anne and Donald Street, City of Barrie. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene after the collision.

The male suffered minor injuries and was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Care Centre.

The investigation is continuing and police are speaking with witnesses.

Occurrence Type: Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving and Fail To Remain

Date: Monday, October 5, 2015 – 11:00pm

On Monday, October 4, 2015, just after 11:00 p.m., police received a call after a vehicle had lost control on Edgehill Drive, City of Barrie and crashed into a tree on the complainant’s front lawn.

Witnesses stated two occupants fled the vehicle on foot after the crash. Upon arrival police searched the area and located the two occupants of the vehicle, who had been walking in the opposite direction of the crash.

The driver, a 53 year-old male from Barrie was arrested and brought to the Barrie Police Station to provide breath samples.

The male has been charged with, impaired driving, dangerous driving and fail to remain. Furthermore, his driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days.

The male was later released from custody on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in a Barrie court this month.
