Hit And Run – Grenville SNAKE – Drunk Driving

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – On December 2, 2017, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police Service and the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Three Fires Road.

The investigation revealed that two vehicles collided. The operator of one vehicle, a pregnant female, reported that the second involved vehicle had fled the scene.

Police were able to identify the driver of the vehicle. Officers determined that the 74-year-old male driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests.

As a result of the police investigation, Grenville SNAKE, of the Munsee Delaware First Nation, has been charged with Care and Control While Impaired, Care and Control Over 80 mgs., Driving While Disqualified and Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC).

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on January 11, 2018.
