Helmetless Mini Bike Driver Airlifted To Hospital After Hitting Trees

(North Kawartha Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were dispatched to assist at a collision off of Highway 28 north of Long Lake Road Sunday just before 8:30pm.

A male was driving a mini bike on private property, when he collided with several trees. The rider was located by his friends when he did not return to the cottage. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Jean-Phillippe LOYER (age 31) of Mississauga, ON was transported by Ornge Air Ambulance to a Kingston area trauma centre with serious injuries.
