(TOWN OF MISSISSIPPI MILLS, ON) – On January 10th, 2015 at approximately 6:15 am the Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving serious injuries on Highway 7 in the Town of Mississippi Mills near Tatlock road.
A tractor trailer was travelling on Highway 7 East bound when it struck a small West bound passenger vehicle head on. Two off duty OPP officers were almost immediately on scene to assist. Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 25 year old female from Ottawa, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, a 39 year old male from Belleville, was also taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Highway 7 was closed for 16 hours while OPP officers continued the investigation into the serious collision. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators attended the scene.
Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
