(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Tuesday September 15, 2015, shortly after 6 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Perth Line 86 near Perth Road 147.
Investigation revealed that a Hyundai sedan travelling west bound on Perth Line 86 crossed the centre line, and entered into the path of a Hyundai Santa Fe travelling east bound in the east bound lane. The vehicles impacted head-on.
All three occupants involved in this collision were residents of the Municipality of North Perth. They were all transported by Perth County EMS to a local hospital. The driver of the Hyundai sedan was treated for his minimal injuries and so was the 64-year- old male driver of the Santa Fe. The 60 year old female passenger of the Santa Fe was transferred from the local hospital to a London Hospital where she is being treated for her major injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai sedan, 24-year-old Joshua Alexander DIEGEL has been charged with “careless driving”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
Both vehicles are damaged beyond repair as a result of this collision.
