( Otonabee South Monaghan Township, ON) – On Saturday March 15, at approximately 17:46 p.m., members of the OPP Central Region Drug Unit and Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit concluded an investigation centered on two adults at a motel located on Highway 7.
Officers had been conducting an investigation into the illegal actions of two suspects who were staying at a motel just outside of the City of Peterborough. Officers arrested 21 year old Ashley KIMBALL of Hiawatha First Nation, and 18 year old Jamie GAVIN-SCOTT of the City of Peterborough.
At the time of the arrest investigating officers seized a loaded hand gun and a quantity of a controlled substance.
Both parties have been charged with the offences of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Possession of a loaded Restricted Firearm, and Unauthorized possession of a Restricted Firearm.
They have been held for a Bail Hearing scheduled for Monday March 17, 2014 in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
