(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 29-year-old driver from Kitchener is facing two criminal charges after he was stopped by police on August 9, 2015. At approximately 9:20 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed the driver of a Toyota sedan travelling eastbound on Dashwood Road in an erratic manner. Upon stopping the vehicle the officer spoke with the driver and noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. Further observations were made that indicated the driver’s ability to drive a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
The driver was arrested for Impaired Driving and a demand was subsequently given to the driver for breath samples. The driver was then transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. At the detachment the driver refused to provide suitable samples of his breath to the Intoxilizer Technician.
As a result, 29-year-old Habibullah NABI from Kitchener has been charged with Impaired Driving & Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 14, 2015. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
