Guelph Police Weekend Report

Break and enters

-On October 21, 2016 at 3:13 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Farley Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the home through a window sometime during the day and stole electronics, cash and jewellery.

-On October 21, 2016 at 1:34 p.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a break and enter to a Harrison Avenue residence. The culprit(s) entered the garage and stole several frozen food items and beverages from the fridge.

-On October 22, 2016 at 9:57 p.m., the Guelph Police went to an Ontario Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the basement unit and stole a men’s 22 speed Casati bicycle, blue and white in colour.

Recovered stolen vehicle

On October 24, 2016 at 3:50 a.m., a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder was located in the parking lot at 10 Woodlawn Road east. The vehicle had sustained damage and was not drivable. The vehicle was found to have been reported stolen from Oakridge Crescent on October 16, 2016.

Impaired driver arrested

On October 22, 2016 at 10:50 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Auden Road and Magdalena Drive. Police spoke with the male driver, determined that he was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

Roderick Mackinnon, 38 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on December 9, 2016.

Bike’s stolen

Over the weekend the Guelph Police received thirteen reports from Guelph residents about bikes being stolen. In many cases the bikes were locked but the locks were cut off. Please ensure that you report stolen property online.

Theft from cars

Over the weekend the Guelph Police received four reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Garibaldi Street, Clinton Street, Drohan Drive and London Road Eats.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Project Draw – update

On October 21, 2016 in the early morning hour’s members of the HEAT Unit, GPS and WRPS Tactics and Rescue Unit conducted search warrants at a home on Ferguson Street and a home on Alice Street. A total of 11 people were arrested:

Brandy Chamberlain, 40-year-old female of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on November 29, 2016.

Koadie Davidson 28-year-old female of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on November 29, 2016.

John Hartung 32-year-old male of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach probation and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on October 24, 2016.

Nicole Macmillian 39-year-old female of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property, two counts of breach of probation and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on November 29, 2016.

Nicholas Newman 27-year-old male of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property, two counts of breach of recognizance and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on October 24, 2016.

Dillon Popyk 28-year-old male of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach of recognizance and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on October 24, 2016.

Paul Ashall 44-year-old male of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach of probation and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on November 29, 2016.

Frank Belcastro 57-year-old male of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on November 29, 2016.

David Bell 33-year-old male of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach of probation and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on October 24, 2016.

Kristen Bolt 19-year-old female of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach of probation and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on November 29, 2016.

Ryan Watson 42-year-old male of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on October 24, 2016.

Also seized in the search warrants were a large number of bicycles, bicycle parts, electronics, identity documents and replica firearms.

The Guelph Police Service has now started to match some of the stolen property to its owners. If you have had property stolen recently but have not reported it, please report it online. Without a stolen property report on file we will be unable to match the property to you. We also ask that you do not call in to see if your property was located in this project. If you have a report on file and we match the property, we will contact you.

Police incidents from October 22 to October 24 at 8:00 a.m.

The Guelph Police were involved in 406 incidents in this time frame. Incidents involve everything from traffic stops and accidental 911 calls to domestics and break and enters.
