Guelph Police Weekend Report

  1. Assault investigated

    On June 13, 2015, the Guelph Police were called to investigate an assault. It is alleged that a female heading home at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the area of London Road and Exhibition Streets, was accosted by an unknown male. The female was left with superficial injuries. The male is described as white with a tan complexion, 5’8” to 5’11”, broad shoulders, bulky build, with dark straight short hair, small eyes, wearing a white or grey t-shirt, and baggy jeans. Several persons are known to have been in the area at that time, and investigators would like to speak with those persons who were in the area of London Road and Exhibition Street between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.

    2. Break and enter

    On June 13, 2015 at 3:23 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Stevenson Street North home to investigate a break and enter. The residents returned home and observed a male run out their front door last seen heading south on Stevenson Street towards Grange Street. It is alleged that the male had entered the home through an unlocked side door. No theft is reported.

    The male is described as being small in stature and wearing glasses, a plaid shirt and a baseball cap.

    3. Break and enter – arrest

    On June 12, 2015 at 1:16 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Fife Road to investigate a break and enter. It is alleged that a male had entered a home but was discovered by the residents. The male immediately left but then continued to check cars and homes on the street. Police located the man and he was arrested. A search subsequent to his arrest discovered a small quantity of marihuana.

    Paul Bell, 44 years of Guelph has been charged with break and enter and possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on June 23, 2015.

    4. Break and enter

    On June 12, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Deerpath Road home to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the garage sometime overnight and stole the Ford Escape vehicle along with alcohol and cigarettes.

    5. Impaired driver arrested

    On June 12, 2015 at 10:13 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver coming into Guelph on Highway 7. Police were able to locate the vehicle parked in the driveway of a Lawrence Avenue home. The female driver was asleep in the front seat. Police spoke with her and determined that she had been drinking alcohol and she was arrested.

    Tara Lynn Wochesen, 41 years of Guelph has been charged with care and control impaired and care and control over 80 mg. She will appear in court on June 26, 2015.

    6. Impaired driver – arrest

    On June 13, 2015 at 6:33 p.m., the Guelph police received calls about a possible impaired driver. The vehicle allegedly struck a camping trailer that had been parked in a driveway on Marksam Road. The responsible driver drove away from the collision with front end damage that included a flat tire. Police were able to locate the vehicle parked in the driveway of a Scottsdale Drive home. The male driver was arrested. A search subsequent to his arrest discovered a small quantity of marihuana in the vehicle.

    Andre Bonaldo, 23 years of Guelph has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired driving, drive over 80mg, fail to stop at the scene of an accident and possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on July 21, 2015.

    7. Theft from cars

    Over the weekend the Guelph Police received six reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Summerfield Drive, Colonial Drive, St. Arnaud Street, Cambridge Street and two on Ervin Crescent.

    This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
