In January of 2016 the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit commenced a Crystal Meth and Heroin trafficking investigation in the east end of Guelph. This investigation concluded with the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Sunnylea Crescent. As a result a quantity of cash, Heroin, Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, and Marihuana were seized along with a replica handgun and a prohibited weapon.
A 44-year-old Guelph male has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to a prohibition order, three counts of breach of probation and two counts of breach of recognizance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on January 27, 2016.
A 43-year-old Guelph female has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to a prohibition order. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on January 27, 2016.
Theft from cars
On January 26, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were College Avenue West and Sanderson Drive.
