Guelph Police Daily News Release – 18Aug2016

On August 17, 2016 at 10:21 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a vacant York Road building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered and stole copper wire/piping and tubing over the last week.

Break and enter

On August 17, 2016 at 7:47 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a construction site on Woodlawn Road West to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the site sometime overnight and stole a metal storage box and two 18 volt Dewalt screw guns.

Break and enter

On August 17, 2016 at 9:55 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the Barber Scout Camp on Stone Road East to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a building and property damage was done. No theft is reported.

Stolen car

On August 17, 2016 at 7:08 p.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a stolen car. The vehicle, a 2002 black Pontiac Grand Am, plate # BZJN653 was stolen from a driveway on Curzon Crescent sometime during the daytime.

Shoplifter

On August 17, 2016 at 6:55 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Stone Road area to assist a Loss Prevention Officer attempting to arrest a male shoplifter. The shoplifter ran and was last seen heading towards the University Village Park area. Police searched but the man was not located. The suspect is described as male, black, in his twenties, with a medium build and wearing a T-shirt and baggy jeans.
