Guelph Police Daily News Release – 09Nov2016

A shoplifting investigation from October 3, 2016 at a Clair Road grocery store resulted in two suspects being identified and sought by police.

On November 8, 2016 members of the Guelph Police High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) located the wanted parties on Carden Street and they were arrested. A search then discovered identity documents that had been reported from theft from car incidents in October.

A subsequent search warrant at a south end home was then executed and more identity documents and property believed to be stolen was seized.

A 22-year-old Guelph man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and three counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 9, 2016.

A 24-year-old Guelph female has been charged with theft under $5,000. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 9, 2016.

Stolen truck

On November 9, 2016 at 6:26 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report that a white 2011 GMC Canyon pickup truck had been stolen from Laughland Lane sometime overnight. It has plate number 554 8ZM.

Impaired driver arrested

On November 8, 2016 at 11:17 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop on Woolwich Street with a car. Investigation determined the male driver was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

James Cimini, 25 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on November 22, 2016.

Theft from cars

On November 8, 2016 the Guelph Police received five reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Balsam Drive, Victoria Road North, King Street and two on Burns Drive.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Speed enforcement

On November 8 – Stone Road at Monticello Crescent from 1:15 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. – 10 tickets issued.
