Grow Op Bust & Theft Of Hydro

(Petawawa, Ontario) – On the 15th of October 2015 members of O.P.P. Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – and members of the Upper Ottawa Valley O.P.P executed search warrants at an address in the Town of Petawawa. Evidence was seized for a cannabis marihuana grow operation and theft of Hydro.

As a result of the search warrants one male has been arrested.

Nelson SHAMESS (45) of Petawawa has been charged with Production of a schedule II substance –Cannabis Marihuana contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and also with Theft of Electricity – Over $5000 contrary to section 326(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released on a Promise to Appear with an Officer in Charge undertaking.
