(Prescott, ON) The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested 3 individuals for impaired driving related offences, between June 18 to the 23, 2018.
On June 18, at approximately 5pm a citizen reported a possible impaired driver on Water Street, in Prescott. Police responded and arrested the male driver. Ross Lassenba, age 62, of Edwardsburgh Township was charged with:
Driving while ability impaired by alcohol
Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in blood
On June 23, at 11:30pm, an OPP officer was on general patrol, along County Road 2, in Augusta Township, when a motor vehicle swerved across the center line, almost striking the on-coming cruiser. This vehicle was stopped and the female driver, Catherine Brown, age 47, of Prescott, was charged with:
Driving while ability impaired by drug
Fail or refuse to provide sample
On June 23, at approximately 11:30pm, a citizen reported a possible impaired driver, who was parked along County Road 21, in Edwardsburgh Township. The driver was revving his engine and had a small bon fire next to his vehicle. Officers attended and arrested the male lone occupant. Heath Tonelli, age 47, from Medicine Hat, Alberta was charged with:
Care or control while ability impaired by alcohol
Fail or refuse to provide sample
In addition to the criminal charges, all mentioned drivers had their motor vehicle impounded for 7 days and their drivers licence suspended for 90 days.
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Brockville Court of Justice, on July 20, 2018.
