(Ottawa, ON) – May 25, 2015, The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ottawa Detachment responded to motor vehicle collision on Highway 417 eastbound near the Woodroffe Avenue overpass.
At approximately 3:17 pm, a motorist saw a delivery van strike the centre concrete median traveling eastbound on Highway 417. The van beginning to slow and was seen bouncing off the centre median. The motorist saw that the driver of the van was in medical distress and positioned her vehicle in front of the van bringing it to a stop. An off-duty paramedic also stopped to provide medical assistance.
The driver of the van was transported to an Ottawa area hospital for medical treatment.
The OPP would like to recognize the selfless act of the Good Samaritan.
